If a Windows shared printer cannot be monitored, check the following: *Make sure that the printer driver is installed on the computer that is hosting the Windows shared printer and that, in the printer driver, the printer is set to be shared. Also make sure that "Allow monitoring of shared printers" is selected in the Monitoring Preferences dialog box. *(Windows Me/98/95) On the server, double-click the Network icon in Control Panel and make sure that the "File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks" component is installed. Then, on the server AND clients, make sure that the "IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol" or the "TCP/IP Protocol" is installed. *On the server and clients, make sure that Printer Interface version 4.xxx or later is installed. To confirm the version of Printer Interface, open the EPSON Status Monitor 3 dialog box and click the icon on the left side of the EPSON Status Monitor 3 title bar. Select "About..." from the menu and confirm the version in the "Aboutc" message box that appears. 1-2.
